APPLICATIONS

Solar pumping system serves to provide water in remote applications where electrical grid power is either unreliable or unavailable. BLDC solar pump controller can direct use the DC power from PV array, and drive the brushless DC pumps. In sunny days, the pumping system can continuously pump water. There is no need of batteries or other energy storage devices. It's recommended to pump water to a reservoir for storage.

A float switch can be installed in the water tower to control the pump operation. And install a low-level probe in well to detect the well water so that pump will stop when there is no water. Below diagram shows a typical diagram of the solar pumping system, including major parts and components.

FAQ
1. Photovoltaic module array

Photovoltaic module arrays are composed of individual photovoltaic modules connected in series and parallel. Its capacity is configured according to the power of the pump motor.

2. DC/DC and DC/AC conversion equipment

For pump systems with AC asynchronous or synchronous motors, DC/AC power conversion must be provided to output a voltage suitable for motor operation.

For pump systems using brushless DC motors, a system-specific drive controller is required.

3. Pump

For photovoltaic water pump systems, the choice of pump type is also important. In a small power system, if the user requires high head but small flow, a positive displacement pump should be selected. In other cases, centrifugal or axial flow pumps may be used.

4. Water tower and water supply facilities

Since the power source of the photovoltaic water pump system is solar radiation, the system is generally configured to work during the day. If water supply is required at night, water storage equipment is required.
